New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg don't appear ready to end their ongoing feud.
The Republican governor on Thursday teed off on Lautenberg, one day after the Democrat chaired a hearing in Washington that put Christie ally Bill Baroni, deputy executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, on the hot seat over toll increases.
Christie called Lautenberg "an embarrassment to the state" for trying to ambush Baroni over toll hikes when Lautenberg received free E-ZPass perks as a one-time Port Authority commissioner.
Lautenberg called Christie "the name-calling governor," and says he's trying to deflect attention from the unpopular toll increases.
The two have also tangled over Christie's proposed merger of Rutgers-Camden and Rowan University, which Lautenberg opposes.
