Corbett Signs 1st Execution Warrants as Governor

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett has officially signed his first two execution warrants.

Corbett's office announced Wednesday the execution warrants of Dennis Reed of Lawrence County and Aquil Bond of Philadelphia, both convicted murderers.

Reed, 39, is being held in Green County Jail after being convicted in 2008 of shooting and killing Wendy Miller in 2001.

Bond, 32, has been in Graterford State Prison since his 2005 conviction for killing Rasheed Grant in 2002.

Both men's executions were scheduled for April -- Reed is set to be executed on April 5 with Bond's date set for two days later.
