The United Auto Workers union is ratcheting the pressure up on four Atlantic City casinos where workers have agreed to unionize but don't yet have contracts.

The union planned picketing Thursday night near Bally's and Caesars. Last weekend it used large trucks to slow traffic as part of its push for contracts.

The parent company of Bally's and Caesars called on the union Thursday to stop scaring customers away from Atlantic City, arguing it hurts both the workers and the city, where casinos have been struggling with falling revenues.

The union has authorized a strike against Bally's, Caesars and the Tropicana, but has not set a date. No strike has yet been threatened against the other casino to unionize, Trump Plaza.
