State Rep Arrested for DUI: Police

John Galloway allegedly drove drunk in Harrisburg Tuesday

State Rep. John Galloway was arrested on charges of drunken driving in the state capital early Tuesday, police say.

Police in Harrisburg pulled Galloway over after he allegedly ran a stop sign and was driving erratically, reports the Inquirer.

Police stopped the Bucks County Democrat on Second Street at about 3:15 a.m. He told police he was coming from the Capital complex, according to the Inquirer.

The officer put Galloway through several field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed. The officer then asked Galloway to take a breath test and he refused to do so, police say.

Galloway, who has represented the 140th Legislative District since 2007, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, as well as other traffic violations, police say.

If convicted, Galloway could lose his license for one year.
