Gingrich Swings Through Pa

Stumping for votes ahead of April 24 primary

Former House speaker and GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is in Pennsylvania for a two-day swing through the state ahead of next week's primary election.

Gingrich said Tuesday that he plans to keep running, and insists that it is not inevitable that former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney will become the party's nominee to challenge President Barack Obama in the fall.

He says he has not asked Rick Santorum for his support since the former Pennsylvania senator dropped out of the race last week, although he says he'd still love to have Santorum's support.

Pennsylvania shares the Tuesday primary date with Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and Delaware. Gingrich says he'll head to Delaware on Wednesday before stops in New York City and Buffalo, NY, on Thursday and Friday.
