Easton to Offer Domestic Partner Benefits to Workers

Mayor signs bill approved unanimously by City Council

The city of Easton will offer domestic partner benefits as of Jan. 1.

Mayor Sal Panto signed a bill Monday that gives medical benefits to same-sex partners of city workers. City Council unanimously approved the legislation last week. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Allentown have similar policies.

The ordinance was written by students at Columbia Law School's Sexuality & Gender Law Clinic.
