Patrick Murphy is throwing his support behind former opponent Kathleen Kane in the Pennsylvania attorney general's race.
Murphy, a former two-term congressman, endorsed Kane on Tuesday. He called the Democratic primary campaign “a family fight” and urged Democrats to rally behind Kane in the general election.
“Kathleen is a fierce competitor,” said Murphy. “Democrats must come together, beat David Freed, and deny Governor Corbett the Attorney General he hand-picked to protect his radical agenda.”
Kane faces Republican David Freed, the Cumberland County district attorney, in the Nov. 6 vote.
Kane, a former Lackawanna County prosecutor, defeated Murphy with 53 percent of the vote in the April primary.
