Christie: Illinois Governor's “a Disaster”

The 2 states vie for businesses in ad war

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he's not worried about businesses leaving for Illinois because Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn is “a disaster.”

Christie spoke after he was questioned about ads that are set to appear in business publications on Monday. They were paid for by the advocacy group For a Better Chicago and come after Christie launched his own campaign to encourage businesses in Illinois to relocate to New Jersey.

Christie's ads reinforce the Republican's commitment not to raise taxes after Quinn, a Democrat, raised personal income and corporate business taxes.

A Quinn spokeswoman says the Illinois governor is focused on getting that state's finances in order and not making personal attacks.
