Allentown Giving Scofflaws the Boot

Failing to pay just one ticket may cost you

The Allentown Parking Authority is clamping down on violators. Owners who don’t pay even a single parking ticket within 45 days could have steel locks placed on their vehicles.

The new no-tolerance policy is a wake-up call for repeated parking violators, says the parking authority. The policy will help people keep their fines manageable and could save them money in the long run, according to the authority.

If a ticket goes unpaid after 60 days, it will end up in district court as a parking warrant, allowing the owner’s vehicle to be towed and impounded.

In the past, the parking authority put boots on vehicles after owners received five unpaid tickets and failed to pay them all within 30 days of being notified.

So pay your fines and avoid the boot!
