'Deeply Disturbing': Video Shows Milwaukee Teacher's Aide Tackling Student

The unidentified aide was arrested on suspicion of physical abuse of a child

Milwaukee police say a teacher's aide was arrested after pushing a student to the floor in an incident caught on cellphone video.

A staff member at Bay View High School shoved a 14-year-old student into chairs and then held him down on the ground during a Wednesday morning Biology class, according to NBC affiliate WTMJ.

The unidentified aide was arrested on suspicion of physical abuse of a child. Police say the student was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Milwaukee Public Schools spokesman Tony Tagliavia said the staff member faces disciplinary action, which includes possible termination. He says the aide was removed from the classroom as soon as school administration knew about the incident.

Tagliavia called the incident "deeply disturbing."

The incident remains under investigation.
