Quentin Tarantino Gets Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Just days before the Christmas release of his next film, "The Hateful Eight," acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"There aren’t a lot of people in this business who still look at filmmaking the way Quentin does, and the purity of what it is, and what it should be — and what it means to you people who pay your money to watch the film," actor Samuel L. Jackson said at the ceremony Monday.

Jackson has starred in six of Tarantino's films, including "Pulp Fiction," "Jackie Brown," "Kill Bill: Vol. 2," "Inglourious Basterds," and "Django Unchained."

Originally from Knoxville, Tenn., Tarantino reminisced on his childhood days watching films with his parents in a speech before his star was unveiled. He said he was excited to take his place on the famed Hollywood Boulevard.

"I am happy to have my star on the Walk of Fame, with all the other people that have done a wonderful job in this town," he said.

Members from "The Hateful Eight" cast, including Jackson and Christoph Waltz, posed with Tarantino over his new star after the unveiling.
