Read the indictment that special counsel Robert Mueller brought Friday against 13 Russians and three Russian entities alleging an elaborate plot to "sow discord in the U.S. political system, including the 2016 presidential election."
They are the first criminal charges tied directly to alleged Russian interference in the election, which Mueller has been investigating.
The indictment includes no allegation that an American knew of the scheme, or that the scheme altered the presidential election, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said Friday.
