Ohio Man Indicted for Alleged Plot to Attack U.S. Capitol

A federal grand jury has indicted Christopher Lee Cornell, the Ohio man who was arrested last week and accused of plotting to bomb the U.S. Capitol, on charges including the attempted murder of government officials, NBC News reported. In addition to the attempted murder count, the indictment charges Cornell with solicitation to commit a crime of violence and possession of a firearm. Cornell was arrested Jan. 14 outside a gun shop where he had just purchased two M15 semi-automatic rifles and 600 rounds of ammunition, the FBI said in court documents. The 20-year-old — who came on federal agents radar over the summer for suspicious postings on social media in support of ISIS — was scheduled to be arraigned in federal court Thursday afternoon, according to court documents.
