Search for Couple who Went Overboard Carnival Cruise Ship Ends

The search for an Australian couple missing after they went overboard from a cruise ship in the Pacific was called off Friday, NBC News reported. Paul Rossington, 30 and Kristen Schroder, 27, were reported missing on Thursday morning when the Carnival Spirit docked in Sydney, Australia, after a 10-day cruise. Surveillance footage shows they had gone over the side Wednesday evening, but police said it was hard to speculate what exactly occurred based on the video. They are investigating whether the couple jumped or if it was an accident. A New South Wales police spokesman said the search will resume if there are any “confirmed sightings.” The Australian Broadcasting Corporation said Rossington and Schroder were from the small New South Wales town of Barraba.
