Poll: Obama's Handling of Economy Hits New Low

The vast majority of Americans disapprove of President Obama’s handling of the economy, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday. Just 26% of Americans said they approved of Obama’s handling of the economy, a new low that's down 11 percentage points from mid-May, Reuters reported. Two weeks after Congress passed a last-minute debt-ceiling and deficit-cutting deal, 24% of Americans said they approved of Obama’s handling of the deficit, while 29% gave him the benefit of the doubt on job creation efforts. Obama plans to lay out new ideas for creating jobs in a major speech next month, when he returns from vacation on Martha's Vineyard.
