Man Suspected of Killing 4 Dead After Upstate N.Y. Shootout

The man suspected of killing four people and injuring two others in a rampage in upstate New York was killed in a shootout with police after a standoff, police told The Associated Press. Kurt Myers, 64, was killed Thursday after police had been surrounding a block of small businesses in the village of Herkimer since Wednesday afternoon. He was said to have been holed up in an abandoned sports bar since first setting his home on fire in Mohawk, then going on a shooting spree at a barbershop in town and a car wash in Herkimer. Two were killed at both the barbershop and the car wash, police said. Myers' motive was unclear.
