Hoffman Wrote of “Demons” in Diaries Before Overdose

The private diaries of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman reveal a man who was troubled by "demons" he attempted to control with Narcotics Anonymous meetings, NBC News has learned. Hoffman died of an apparent heroin overdose on Feb. 2. According to multiple sources familiar with the contents of the diaries, the hand-written entries are hard to read with scribbled lines and sentences that run in to each other.
