Miss Pennsylvania Undeterred by Lawsuit Threat

Donald Trump told "Today" two days ago that he and the Miss Universe organization are planning on suing Sheena Monnin over slanderous allegations

Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin took to the "Today" show Friday to assure viewers that she was standing by her resignation decision and pageant fixing allegations against the Miss Universe organization.

“What I really want out of this is for the truth to be known,” Monnin told NBC's Ann Curry.

The "Today" appearance came two days after Donald Trump called into the morning show and announced a plan to sue the Pennsylvania beauty.

Earlier this week, Monnin announced she was resigning from her position as Miss Pennsylvania USA 2012 because she says Sunday's Miss USA pageant was fixed.

Monnin claims that another contestant saw the list of who made the top 5 before the show started. She said on her Facebook page that she saw the list and that the ladies named were the same as those announced on stage.

The organization dismissed the allegations as false, alleging that Monnin resigned because of the recent decision to allow transgender contestants.

Trump told "Today" he believes Monnin was just mad she didn't make it to the top 15.

"I feel disappointed that (Trump) has made some of the statements that he said about me," Monnin said on "Today" Friday. "I know what I heard, and I know what I in turn witnessed come true based on what I heard the contestant say she saw on the list, so I'm prepared to continue to march forward."

"There are many reasons that a list could be laying around with the top five names, but when the names were called out in the order that she said she saw them on the list, that’s just too coincidental to not be true,’’ Monnin said.
