Army Pfc. Chelsea Manning, formerly known as Bradley Manning, is seeking a presidential pardon for leaking reams of classified information to WiikiLeaks, The Associated Press reported. "The decisions I made in 2010 were made out of a concern for my country and the world that we live in," Manning wrote in her petition for pardon and commutation of sentence. Manning's lawyer, David Coombs, sent the petition Tuesday to President Barack Obama through the U.S. Justice Department, and to Army Secretary John M. McHugh. Manning, who came out as transgender and announced her plans to transition soon after her sentence was handed down, wants to receive hormone therapy while serving her 35-year prison sentence at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas.
