If confirmed by the Senate, former Procter & Gamble CEO Robert McDonald will have the job of cleaning up the Department of Veterans Affairs—an agency accused of falsifying records and mismanaging patients, leaving many waiting indefinitely for treatment. Although critics point to Procter and Gamble’s lackluster sales under McDonald's tenure, NBC News reported that he was still able to make the company more efficient, accountable and transparent—all qualities VA healthcare whistleblowers have said the system lacks.
