Boulder Smashes Train in French Alps, 2 Dead

Two people were killed and around 20 people hurt when a massive falling boulder hit a passing train in the French Alps on Saturday, leaving one of its carriages dangling off a steep embankment, local officials said. The accident occurred around 11 a.m. local time (5 a.m. ET) when the two-carriage train was travelling between the towns of Saint-Benoit and Annot on the Nice-Dignes line in southeastern France. The train was carrying 23 people.
