9/11 Hate Crime Victim Fights for Attacker's Life

An immigrant who was shot in the face and blinded in one eye in a 9/11 hate crime is now fighting for the life of his convicted shooter. 31-year-old laborer Mark Stroman, a self-described "Arab Slayer," killed two South Asian immigrants and shot Rais Bhuiyan at close range in a rampage after the 9/11 attack. He faces imminent execution in Texas, but Bhuiyan does not believe in the death penalty and vowed to "knock on every door possible" to get him off of death row. "I've had many years to grow spiritually," said Bhuiyan, who cites his Muslim faith as inspiration. "I'm trying to do my best not to allow the loss of another human life."
