Magnitude 7.3 Quake Hits Northern Japan

The strong quake shook buildings in Tokyo and prompted a tsunami alert for Japan’s northeastern coast, The Associated Press reported. It struck about 200 miles north of Tokyo at a depth of 6.2 miles and was followed by a 6.3 magnitude aftershock. There were no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries.
