Lindsay Lohan to Skip Court Appearance Due to Illness

Actress reportedly down with the flu in New York City, preventing her from flying to Los Angeles to make her hearing.

Lindsay Lohan is calling in sick.

The "Liz & Dick" actress will be skipping out on an appearance at a Los Angeles courthouse Wednesday--where she is scheduled to answer for charges that she violated her probation--because she is ill, E! News has confirmed.

According to a court source, Judge Stephanie Sautner received notice Tuesday that the 26-year-old has reportedly come down with the flu in New York City and will be unable to fly to the hearing. Lohan supposedly saw a doctor to determine whether she was healthy enough to make the trip.

Lindsay Lohan faces trial for probation violation

Earlier this month, the actress' lawyer pleaded, on her behalf, not guilty to probation violation stemming from a June car crash in which the actress is accused of lying to police.

LiLo has been charged with three misdemeanors: obstruction, providing false information to an officer and driving with wanton disregard.

The star remains on probation for her 2011 jewelry theft case, and in a fortuitous turn of events, Lohan's probation-violation case was transferred to the courtroom of Sautner - the very same judge who presided over the necklace - swiping case and supervised her eventual probation. Lohan's trial is scheduled for Feb. 27.
