Jeremy Renner Joins “The Avengers”

Renner will play everyone's favorite purple-clad archer in the Marvel epic.

Jeremy Renner, star of The Hurt Locker, has been confirmed as Hawkeye for the upcoming Marvel epic The Avengers, bringing the cast closer still to completion.

Former Lost star Josh Holloway is said to be in talks to join the team, as well, possibly as Henry Pym, aka Ant-Man, a character that will be getting his own feature film, to be directed by Edgar Wright. Nate Fillion has also been mentioned for the role.
Already confirmed is Chris Evans as Captain America, seen here in concept art for the film Captain America: The First Avenger, which will come out first, on July 22, 2011.
