Twitter Video Shows 12 Ducklings Rescued From Suburban Sewer

The family of ducks were released back into the wild after the brief but feather-ruffling experience

Firefighters plucked 12 ducklings from a west suburban storm drain Thursday and video of the whole ordeal was shared on social media.

Twitter user Loriann Jean told NBC 5 she noticed a distressed mother duck in the 500 block of North Avenue in Glendale Heights, near Chicago.

“We saw this mommy duck circling the sewer, and we heard little chicks inside,” she said.

The rescuers were able to reunited the mother duck with her dozen chirping babies. They told Loriann Jean they hadn’t seen so many baby ducks in a storm drain in nearly 25 years of service, she said.

“Thank you to the Glendale heights firefighters,” she added.
