First Look: Andrew Garfield as “Spider-Man”

There he is folks, Andrew Garfield as your friendly neighborhood wall-crawler.

Sony fired this one off today, just a few days after the first photos of Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy found there way on line. We gotta say, he looks pretty good.

Garfield's ascension to the A-List was well earned, as he nailed one performance after another, from his star turn in "Boy A," to otherwise meh "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus," to his work as Eduardo Saverin in "The Social Network."

It was that last part that convinced Sony Garfield was the right choice, despite the fact that he's English, gangly and in his late 20s. All those concerns aside, we thought he was a great pick--though Donald Glover at least deserved a shot, no?

The new Spider-Man swings into action July 3, 2012.
