Courtney Love might have put the nail in the coffin of the British report that Robert Pattinson would star as Kurt Cobain in a biopic of the rocker's life.
Using words like "stupid" and "silly" Love made her opinions abundantly clear that the "Twilight" stud was out of the running for the part, according to an interview in the Canadian Press.
"Isn't that so stupid, who would cast him? That's just wrong, no offense (to Pattinson)," Love said.
"I watched the 'Twilight' stuff very, very recently and I get it, it resonates with the teenage girl in me, I understand epic love of that nature; I write about it all the time."
"But isn't that silly?"
Instead she wants either Canadian actor Ryan Gosling or Scottish actor James McAvoy. (McAvoy I can visualize, but still having a little trouble with Gosling in the role).
And she wants a hand in casting the film which is in the embryonic stages. Indeed, this is really the only way to go if the film is going to have any credibility with the rock world. While he has the cheekbones, the aversion to hygiene and the musical flare, Pattinson will never be allowed to strut his stuff in this role due to excessive lack of street cred.
At this point, the breathless April 9 British report has been discredited thoroughly. If another nail is needed, a spokesperson for the actual movie tells PopcornBiz the Pattinson rumor was "crap news and there isn't a word of truth in it."
