A couple dashed onto the tarmac of Malta's international airport to try and stop their flight from leaving without them, Reuters reported. Matteo Clementi, 26, and Enrica Apollonio, 23, got stuck in traffic on the way to the airport and were running late for their Ryanair flight to Italy, according to the Times of Malta. The gate to the plane was closed, so the couple forced open a security door at another gate, ran to the apron and started signaling to the pilots to let them on the plane. But the pilots did not allow them to board, and security staff arrested the couple, who were fined 2,329 euros ($2,656).
