Fort Worth police say an 11-year-old boy died Monday night after being impaled by an iron fence post.
According to police, a group of children were inside a locked pool area at the Ladera Palms Apartments, located along the 2300 block of Baroque Drive. When security told the group to leave the area, 11-year-old Jean Pierre Mwenge attempted to jump the fence and was impaled by an iron post, police said.
Mwenge was rushed to Cook Children's Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased shortly after 8 p.m.
