CDC Lab Chief Resigns After Anthrax Fumble

The head of a CDC lab in Atlanta that possibly exposed workers to live anthrax has resigned, an agency spokesman said Wednesday. Michael Farrell was in charge of the lab, which handles bioterrorism agents, since 2009. Dozens of CDC workers may have been exposed to anthrax after Farrell's lab sent live samples of the deadly bacteria to two other CDC labs last month.
