Other acts performing and attending will include husband Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder and Maroon 5, while celeb presenters will range from Denzel Washington to Leonardo DiCaprio. The ball will be broadcast on ABC.
Beyonce will also perform before the inauguration, singing at “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial” on Sunday. She’ll be joined by Bruce Springsteen and Bono, among others. Bono will have the honor of introducing the President-elect, Access Hollywood has learned. The event will air live on HBO at 4 PM EST and will be rebroadcast at 7 PM.
For Beyonce, this opportunity has been a long time coming.
“I can’t wait,” she told The Associated Press the day after the presidential election in November. “If they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I’m there, and I’m ready.”
