Disgraced Baltimore Officer: Detective Slain Before Testifying Was Also Corrupt

The Gun Trace Task Force was disbanded last year, with members facing charges including robbing drug dealers and conducting illegal searches

A Baltimore police officer testified Monday that he and another officer, later shot to death before he was set to testify against his colleagues, stole money together, NBC News reported.

It was the latest turn in the federal corruption trial that's brought extraordinary abuse allegations in a rogue police unit.

The Gun Trace Task Force was disbanded last year, and six members out of eight indicted have pleaded guilty after charges including robbing drug dealers and conducting illegal searches were brought. Four agreed to take the stand against two who are on trial.

Det. Sean Suiter's November killing remains unsolved, though police have said there is no evidence it's connected to the corruption case.
