Ambassador Mark Lippert was assigned a full-time unarmed bodyguard during the time of the knife attack in Seoul this week. The attack on the U.S. ambassador raised questions as to how suspect Kim Ki-jong was able to get closer enough Lippert to slash him with a knife. Lippert, 42, suffered a four-inch gash on his face and wound on his arm. He underwent a three-hour surgery and is expected to remain in the hospital until next week.
