Adam Sandler Eying Video-Games-Destroy-Manhattan Short “Pixels”

The short film "Pixels" has recently gone viral  thanks in part to the twittering of geek God Edgar Wright, eventually catching the attention of Adam Sandler who's interested in turning it into a full-length feature.

The short, directed by Patrick Jean at One More Production, shows a giant cloud of pixels spit forth from an abandoned TV then float across the East River and the Manhattan skyline before breaking off into smaller bits that take the shape of iconic video game characters, as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders and a host of others slowly lay waste to the city.

Jean and Sandler are now at work on developing a feature film, according to Heat Vision. One shudders to think what kind of family-friendly bowl of pablum this will turn into -- or if it will ever see the light of day -- but one envisions a cross between "Click" and "Jumanji."

Oh, well... it's an excuse to watch the video one more time.
