Another person of interest sought

D.C. police arrested a suspect in the robbery and brutal beating of a CNN producer who was jumped while walking to work two weeks ago.

Aaron Cooper, 33, was called to work early Oct. 17. Living just a couple of blocks away, he used to walk to work. That morning, about 4 a.m., he was attacked in the 800 block of First Street NE.

“This whole top part of my jaw broke off," Cooper said. "I mean, it was loose. It was separate. And they had to use four metal plates to stick it back together.”

He was knocked unconscious during the attack.

Cooper lost his cell phone, his computer and his wallet. Minutes later, someone used his ATM card at a nearby 7-Eleven.

Police arrested 20-year-old Shabazz Thompson and charged him with robbery force and violence.
