Saturday, June 30th Events: Fireworks, Community Festival, Lots of Ice Cream

Wawa Welcome America is kicking into high gear with tons of free and tasty fun including free, locally-made ice cream. Here's the breakdown:

Free Museum Day at the First Bank of the United States

Location: Independence National Historical Park
Time: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Sand Sculpture Spectacular
Location: Shops at Liberty Place
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.

World-renowned sculptors will create a 40-ton sand sculpture spectacular with hand-carved scenes commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

John Gowdy and Matt Deibert are retired Atlantic City firefighters who have become world-renowned sand sculptors. Their story started long ago building sand castles with their kids at the Jersey Shore. They’re taking part for a second year in Wawa Welcome America with a huge exhibit at Liberty Place in Center City.

On the Waterfront: Delaware River Music Festival

Pay What You Wish Museum Day at The Rosenbach
Location: The Rosenbach — Rittenhouse
Time: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Philly Ice Cream Scoop!
Location: Reading Terminal Market
Time: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Fun for ice cream-lovers of all ages, featuring 14 of Philly’s top ice cream producers and dozens of ice cream specials from the Market’s own merchants.

Free Museum Day at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts
Location: PAFA — Center City
Time: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

PHL Airport Photo Exhibit
Philadelphia Eagles: 2018 World Champions
Location: Philadelphia International Airport - Terminal A East
Time: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

This photo exhibition celebrates the Philadelphia Eagles 2018 World Championship victory with highlights of past championship teams and Eagles Hall of Famers. Note: You must have an airline ticket to see this exhibit.

Pennsylvania Convention Center Community Festival
Location: Pennsylvania Convention Center — Market East
Time: Noon - 5 p.m.

Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Convention Center with a community festival with live entertainment, tours of the Center’s $1.5 million art collection, birthday cake and a screening of the hit animated movie SING.

Wawa Welcome America Fireworks on the Delaware River Waterfront
Location: Delaware River Waterfront
Time: 9:30 - 10 p.m.

This year’s fireworks displays will be even bigger and better than ever. Two spectacular shows will dazzle audiences with new special effects and love-themed soundtracks which will be broadcast on the iHeartRadio app.

The best waterfront views include the official viewing areas at the Moshulu, the Battleship New Jersey, One Liberty Observation Deck and SugarHouse Casino.
