Would-Be Trooper Pleads Guilty to Having Sex With Teen

A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to corruption of minors for having sex with a teenage girl, crimes he confessed to during a lie-detector pretest to become a state trooper.

The Meadville Tribune reports Wednesday that 30-year-old Joseph Adam White will be sentenced Oct. 28 by a Crawford County judge after pleading guilty to three corruption counts.

State police say the Hartstown man was at the Meadville barracks Jan. 15 for his police cadet lie detector exam. They say during the pretest, he told the examiner he had consensual sex and other contact with the girl in 2011. She is now 19, but was 15 and 16 at the time. White was 25 and 26 when the acts occurred.

White pleaded guilty after prosecutors dropped more serious felony counts of unlawful contact with a minor.
