Worker Trapped Under Concrete Dies

Authorities say a cement barrier fell off a truck, killing one worker on the NJ Turnpike in Bordentown.

Authorities say that a construction worker from Wilmington, Del. died after a cement barrier fell, trapping him underneath on the New Jersey Turnpike Monday morning.

State police confirm that Carmen DiLuzio, 51, was removing nylon straps holding concrete barriers on a flatbed truck when one of the barriers fell off, trapping and killing him.

Just before the accident, DiLuzio drove the truck into a construction area on the Turnpike at exit 7 around 8 a.m. in Bordentown, N.J.

State Police, OSHA and other organizations were investigating the incident.
