Woman Struck, Killed by SEPTA Subway Train

A woman was struck and killed by a SEPTA subway train Sunday night.

Officials say the unidentified woman was on the tracks near the Walnut and Locust Station around 7:40 p.m. when she was struck by a southbound train. She was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police have not yet revealed the victim’s identity.

Shuttle buses operated in place of train service between the Walnut/Locust and Girard stations on SEPTA’s Broad Street Line due to the accident.
