A woman was shot in the stomach early Wednesday after she offered a dollar bill to the two gunmen who demanded money from her, police say.
The 21-year-old woman was walking with a man at Chew and Chelten avenues in Philadelphia at about 3 a.m. Wednesday when they were approached by two men, police say.
The two men demanded money from the pair as one of the suspects pointed a gun at them. In response, the woman gave them $1. One of the men shot her in the stomach, according to police.
The man who was walking with the victim was not shot.
The suspects fled the scene and there have been no arrests yet in the case.
The woman was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where she is in critical condition, police say.
