A Fort Washington woman was injured in a police shooting early Thursday morning after she allegedly pointed a gun at officers.
An officer fired a shot at the woman around 6:20 in a hallway inside the Washington Tower Apartments after she pulled a gun on officers and ignored their requests to put it down, police said.
She was taken to Temple University hospital with minor injuries and is expected to face criminal charges, said the District Attorney's Officer.
A baby, who was inside the woman's nearby apartment at the time of the shooting, was not injured, said officials.
It's unknown if the baby belonged to the unidentified woman.
An investigation is underway.
