Woman Saves Nephew's Life, Gets Hits by DUI Driver

An aunt is a hero this morning after saving her nephew from being hit by a car.

Police say that around 7:20 Friday morning, the woman and her 9-year-old nephew were walking when a car driven by an alleged drunk driver came barreling towards them near 3rd and Wyoming in Feltonville.

The quick-thinking woman, pushed her nephew out of the way, saving his life. She was hit, although her injures are not life-threatening, according to authorities.

She was transported to Temple University Hospital. Her nephew was taken to St. Christopher's to be examined and treated for minor scratches.

The driver was the car was arrested for DUI at the scene.
