Police are searching for a man who they say beat, robbed and raped a woman in Center City last week.
Investigators say the 29-year-old woman left the Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar on S. 12th Street last Thursday around 11 p.m. to feed a parking meter.
As she walked towards her car, police say she was approached by an unidentified man.
"A male came up behind her and said something," said Lieutenant Anthony McFadden of the Special Victims Unit. "As she turned, he grabbed her, forced her into a small alley on the 1200 block of St. James Street at which time he physically and sexually assaulted her."
Police say the assault lasted for 30 minutes. The suspect then robbed her of about $100 before fleeing the scene, according to investigators. The woman then alerted her friends who took her to the hospital and called police.
"She's got multiple abrasions and swelling, black and blue," said Lieutenant McFadden. "Everything consistent with her statement."
According to police, the victim had moved to Philadelphia from the midwest only four days prior to the attack.

Detectives say the rape does not represent a pattern and that there have not been any other similar cases in the area where it occurred, a popular spot for bars and restaurants.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male standing 5-foot-8 with braided hair. Police also say he has a tattoo on his neck and was wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants as well as a chain with a cross.
