Woman Killed After Collision on New Jersey Highway Shoulder

State police say a woman was killed when her car collided with a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder of a highway in Camden County.

The crash occurred around 4:20 a.m. Saturday in the southbound lane of Route 295 near milepost 34 in Cherry Hill. A state police spokesman says the car rear-ended the truck, but the cause of the crash has not been determined.

The woman was extricated from her vehicle and then taken to a hospital, but she died there a short time later. Her name has not been released.

The truck driver wasn't injured.

State Police shut down the right lane of the highway for a few hours while the crash was investigated, but no major travel delays were reported.
