Fire investigators in northeastern Pennsylvania are trying to find out what started a blaze that claimed the lives of an elderly woman and her 2-year-old grandson.
Officials in Luzerne County say the flames were reported just after 11 p.m. Friday in the rear of the Wright Township home.
Acting Coroner William Lisman identified the victims Saturday as 70-year-old Mary Ann Navin and 2-year-old Jack Navin.
He said both deaths were due to carbon monoxide. Another person was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital for treatment of injuries.
A state police fire marshal and the Wright Township police department are investigating.
