Woman Grabbed at West Philadelphia Sunoco, Dragged Into Minivan Found Safe

A woman who police were concerned may have been abducted after she was seen being dragged into a minivan at a West Philadelphia gas station has been located safe.

The woman had just walked out of the convenience store at the Sunoco at 52nd and Spruce streets around 10:30 p.m. when she was grabbed by a man, police said.

Surveillance video shows her being dragged over to a gold-colored early 2000s model minivan. She struggles for some time before being put into a headlock and forced into the vehicle's passenger side door, detectives said. The van then sped off southbound on 52nd Street.

Detectives released her photo to the public Sunday afternoon with hopes of identifying her and determining what led to the scuffle.

A short time after the pictures were released, the woman was found. Investigators said the she was having trouble dealing with a family tragedy and had previously jumped out of another vehicle while driving down the street.

The men grabbing her were family members trying to get her to come home.

No charges will be filed.
