Woman Stabbed to Death in Apparent Love Triangle: Police

Friends and neighbors gathered Sunday to remember a Chester woman who was stabbed to death outside her home in an apparent love triangle that went wrong.

Police say 33-year-old Trinace McMillan, affectionately known as “T”, was found dead Saturday, around 5:45 a.m. on the 1200 block of West 9th Street in a small empty lot outside of an apartment building. Investigators say McMillan was a resident of the complex.

“We are just sick to our stomach, just sick…and distorted, it just makes you sick,” said Michelle Eborn, a neighbor.

Neighbors tell NBC10.com that McMillan was a mother of four.

One friend, who did not want to be identified, said she spent time with the woman Friday.

"We were doing our makeup and just making jokes and everything...I am glad I did get a chance to talk to her before she lost her life," said the woman.

On Sunday, police announced an arrest was made in the case. Esma Wa'Heed, 22, was arrested and charged with homicide, murder and other related offenses. Police say Wa'Heed is a resident of the same apartment complex where McMillan lived.

The Delaware County Daily Times says authorities allege in an affidavit of probable cause that Wa’Heed saw her boyfriend engaged in what she believed was a romantic liaison with another woman, got a knife and stabbed McMillan to death.

Neighbors tell NBC10’s George Spencer that police were called to the complex at least two times in the hours before the stabbing for other disturbances. Both disturbances involved a larger group that included McMillian, Wa’Heed and her boyfriend. McMillian’s friends question whether the deadly fight was over a man but they say the two got into some sort of dispute.

The man allegedly at the center of the dispute has also been arrested. Both he and the suspect are set to go before a judge on July 16.
