NJ Mom Accused of Driving Drunk With 6-Year-Old Son in Car

Police in New Jersey apprehended an alleged DWI offender who tried to kick the arresting officer while her six-year-old son sat in the car.

Toms River Police said Jennifer Hyman, 37, crashed her Jeep into another vehicle at the intersection of Cedar Grove Road and Bay Avenue Tuesday. The operator of the other vehicle, a 28-year-old Toms River resident, was taken to Community Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Investigators say Hyman resisted arrest while being taken into custody and attempted to kick the officer who was placing her in handcuffs.

In addition to drunk driving charges, Toms River Police charged Hyman with second degree child neglect for driving intoxicated while having her child in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
