Woman Crashes Into South Jersey's ‘Wine-O-Land'

A woman slammed her car into a South Jersey liquors store Friday afternoon, then walked inside and uttered two words: I'm sorry.

She was a regular customer at the Wine-O-Land along N. White Horse Pike (U.S. Route 30) in Laurel Springs, according to owner Sagar Polam.

The crash left a section of the liquor store — right under the "Wine-O-Land" sign — damaged and caused around $70,000 in damage. Polam was grateful no one was hurt.

"She could have knocked out my employee," Polam said, adding he'd put concrete barriers around the store about five years ago after another woman ran her car into the store.

"Even the first time was a similar situation. It was a lady. She tried to put it in reverse but put it in drive," Polam said.

Friday's accident happened around 4:30 p.m. The driver gave store workers all her information and cooperated with police.

Wine-O-Land was shut for a few hours while so inspectors could make sure the building's stability.
